If you come across a client who simply wants the task done, it might be a good idea that you simply do as what you are told to do. You might have the freedom to do whatever you want but stick to what you have been told and you will surely get along with your client.
If you have a very hands-on client meaning a boss who contacts you every hour to check on how you are with your work and were his instructions clear enough for you to understand, it is time that you do your best to keep up with him. The best thing to do with hands-on client is to go with the flow. The more you go against the current, the more you butt heads with your client.
Sometimes, we are lucky enough to find a very appreciative client. This type of client can be the best client for you but it can make the worse out of you too. You might become too relaxed with how you deal with your client that you begin to lag behind your work ethics and the quality of your work.
The most polarizing client of all is a client who risks working with you with expectations that you are good and would want to view the results before making the ultimate decision. It can be frustrating for freelancers who do their best and they end up getting the short end of the stick with this kind of client.
Sometimes we get to meet a budget client. These are people who want to start a business but are short on the capital but still want to do it. It might be good for you to understand your client’s situation just as long as he also understands yours. The key to working with a budget client is understanding.
A time conscious client is an impatient client. There might be a chance that he wants you to be on time but most of the time, he just wants you to finish the job fast so that you can move on to the next and have more results in a day. This can be advantageous for you if you have the right price for the right job.
